About Safetitude

The basic denial of rights and violence against women and children in various spaces has been long recognized in Asia. A large percentage of this violence and harm is perpetuated by known people in familiar spaces.

Structural disparities embedded in the social hierarchies, patriarchy and prevailing social and gender norms perpetuate this violence.

The adult-child interactions are top-down wherein adults demand obedience and use fear to ensure compliance to normative behaviour. This approach fails to recognize children as individual rights holders and neglects the development of their agency.  At Safetitude, we firmly believe that shift in these social and gender norms and perception of communities about power and agency is at the root of wellbeing and safety of women, children and vulnerable communities.

We recognize that the ecosystem has civil society organizations and CSR programmes who are directly engaging with the community and Grant making organizations that have focussed on child rights and gender justice. In the ecosystem, we view ourselves as an accelerator and a resource hub committed to provide high-quality expertise on safeguarding, child protection and gender. We envision our journey of driving change through multiple pathways.
